LEGAL NOTICE

Sealed bid proposals for the site improvements at Simmons Park in Aurora, IL, shall be received at the Cole Center 101 W. West Illinois Avenue., Aurora, IL 60506 until Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. (local time) where all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 11:00 a.m. (local time). Bids must be received in a sealed envelope addressed with the name of the Bidder, Owner, Project name, and date and time of the Bid. There will be a pre-bid meeting held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, 1:00 p.m. at the project site, 1191 East Indian Trail Aurora, IL 60505.

The scope of work includes but is not limited, erosion control, grading, drainage, underdrains, asphalt paving, sport court surfacing and fencing for the construction of two pickleball courts. The work also includes water service and drains, concrete paving, plumbing and electric service installation for a splash pad. The entire project includes restoration and seeding.

Bid documents will be available beginning Monday August 24, 2020 at Vesco Reprographic, located at 1351 Aucutt Road, Montgomery, IL, 60538, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Phone (630) 896-2115, www.vescoplanroom.com. Plans are available digitally to view or download. A non-refundable fee of $25.00 will be charged to download each plan set and project manual. If the contractor prefers a printed plan set and project manual, then a non-refundable fee of $50.00 will be charged per set. All addenda and associated Bid Documents shall be issued through the Vesco Plan Room. The Fox Valley Park District shall not be responsible for information received or not received through any other source.

Specifications require the submittal of a 10% Bid Surety with the proposal. Following the award of the contract, the successful contractor(s) must be able to provide a satisfactory Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, and required proof of insurance.

All contracts for work herein are subject to all District rules and regulations and are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (812 ILCS 130/1-12).

All bids will remain firm for sixty (60) days after the bid opening. Fox Valley Park District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive bid formalities, and to accept the lowest responsible bid that serves the best interests of the District.

Minority and women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit bids for this project. The successful contract bidder(s) are will be required to utilize minority and women-owned businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction to meet the minimum requirements of the grant funding for this project.
